Sean Noonan: Color in Situ

Opening reception
Saturday Aug 17

About the Artist
Sean is a Kingston-based artist whose paper works have been heavily influenced by his travels, most notably a year spent teaching in Japan.

Combining painting, drawing, and simple printmaking techniques, his pieces are the process-driven result of and response to textures, angles, curves, edges, and masses that develop through an initial interaction with the material and space. Early crude forms are refined to reveal an inherent weight, texture, feeling, and personality.

A graduate of Pratt Institute, Sean is thrilled to be putting roots down in this vibrant, creative upstate NY community. Most recently, his work has been included in the “Made in New York” show at the Schweinfurth Art Center and the Roxbury Art Center.
